Who we are?

Verti4You is a 27-month strategic partnership between HEIs, R&D institutions and NGOs working with fewer opportunities (FO) and NEET youth from Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Italy, addressing qualitatively all three European priorities considered of relevance for projects submitted in Romania, in line with the national policies.

Why this project?

According to OECD (2016) young people today struggle in the labour market despite being the most highly educated generation in history. Unemployment is generally higher among young people than prime age adults, and those who work tend to have poorer-quality jobs (temporary contracts, lower wages) than older workers. The situation becomes worse for those living in rural areas. Verti4You will increase the social inclusion of people with reduced opportunities (NEET) and the green skills of youth workers by educating and training the fewer opportunities youth and youth workers using hands-on activities for building and producing sustainable vegetables and fruits with innovative vertical farming systems. In the context of the new European Green Deal, both young learners and youth workers become true agents of change, by producing healthy food while saving resources (producing more in less space, water recycling, reduced use of energy, reduced use of pesticides, increasing biodiversity) and by changing their usual behavior in positive ways (adopting greener consumption habits, a healthier and active lifestyle, greening the environment of their communities).
