On May 14th, 2024, one of the official technical tours of the European Horticultural Congress (EHC) 2024 was dedicated to vertical farming (S7) and involved visits to two key sites developed by Ultragreens, a leading company in controlled-environment agriculture in South-Eastern Europe. The tour was organized as a direct outcome of the Verti4You project, through the collaboration between USAMV Bucharest and Ultragreens.
A total of 54 participants joined the tour, which included visits to the GreenHub Ploiești, the largest microgreens facility in the region, and to the indoor vertical farm in Tătărani, both showcasing innovative technologies developed in Romania. Participants explored scalable MicroSera units, automated production systems, and the use of artificial intelligence for environmental control and food safety in indoor agriculture.
This initiative not only provided a practical demonstration of high-tech vertical farming solutions but also served as an effective dissemination tool for the Verti4You Erasmus+ project (2021-1-RO01-KA220-YOU-000029554), reinforcing its mission to support green education, sustainable food systems, and youth empowerment in Europe.
